When buying a camera, I recommend purchasing one of my Micro-USB cables.  Not all cables will work properly.  If yours is not sending the right amount of power over the right pins, the camera will lock up during the boot process.  I keep them cheap, but they are good cables.  Click HERE to get the correct cable.
